Intro To Painting Human Hair

In these introductory lessons, we will begin, as usual, with observation.

Here, we’ll learn how to:

  1. Avoid common mistakes like “Spaghetti Hair” and “Helmet Hair.”
  2. Observe the various qualities of real human hair and apply those observations to our paintings.
  3. Reduce overwhelm with a simplified workflow like our art idols Sargent, Waterhouse and Leyendecker.

But first, I want to introduce you to AJ…

Meet AJ:

AJ-1AJ Nazzaro was in my very first Painting Drama class back in the fall of 2012.

Since then, AJ’s illustration career has taken off.

AJ is a smart, talented character painter who possesses an endless amount of passion for visual storytelling.

We’re all fortunate that AJ agreed to team-up with me for the next few sessions on character painting.

I’m very excited to introduce you to AJ…
