Perspective Part 1

The Magic Box is a painting course, not a drawing course.

However, as we approach environment painting (Parts 2-3) I realize that a discussion about environment DESIGN is essential.

And, as you know, one of the key necessities of environment design is perspective drawing.

Without strong environment design, our environment paintings will collapse under their own epic weight.

As you can imagine, perspective drawing is a whole rigamarole in and of itself.  It’s SUCH a rigamarole that in preparing these perspective lessons for The Magic Box, I’ve decided to develop an entire perspective drawing workshop which I’ll eventually offer through The Oatley Academy.

So, in order to prepare you for the lessons on environment painting, I gathered a small group of artistic friends and recorded an impromptu set of perspective drawing lessons based on the core concepts that will eventually form the perspective drawing workshop.
